Hands up who’s spotted the first Christmas decorations in the shops? As frustrating as it may be for some, forward planning is the key to success!
We’re only three months away from the big day and less than half of that until the start of party season. When it comes to organising the all-important office party, there are lots of opportunities to explore.
While there are plenty of ‘join a party’ options out there, why not start early and organise something really special for you and your colleagues? Having the freedom of theming this how you see fit, with your own fantastic handpicked entertainers and choice of catering, plus the luxury of enjoying the party without sharing with other companies, what’s not to like?
If you think it would be an added hassle, then think again. Here at FoxWylie, we love to help with venue finding, suggesting great entertainment options or coming up with wacky ideas on how you can top last year’s party! We can get involved as much or as little as you prefer.
Theming your night
Giving your party a theme will help you to bring everything together more efficiently and keep on track in terms of time and budget. You can theme the dress code, the music, decor and catering. Here are a few out-of-the-box ideas to consider:
▪ Christmas carol karaoke
▪ Christmas movie night
▪ Scavenger hunt
▪ Winter murder mystery
Let’s face it, Christmas is a lot about the food, right? There are some great suppliers that we’ve worked with who will come up with bespoke menus, tailoring them to your event specifics. Why not move away from the traditional turkey dinner and go for something that you’re more likely to see in one of Heston Blumenthal’s restaurants? Creating theatre and excitement with the food is a great way to ensure the party is one to remember.
Whether you want to bring a theme to life through the venue, or location is key, we can help find your ideal venue. It’s important to look at options you might not ordinarily consider, because they might just surprise you.
A word of warning though; do be realistic about your time and budget limitations. You might be tempted by something exciting like a disused aircraft hanger, but unless you have the time and budget to see a theme through, is it likely to turn out as well as you imagine, or just a vast, unwelcoming space?
Similarly, while there are many ‘off the shelf’ packages out there, which can be great for budget, make sure they’re not restricting you or spending budget where you’d rather use it elsewhere. It’s about working out your priorities.
The finishing touches
There are so many things you can add to your party to make sure you top last year’s efforts. Photo booths and snack tables are popular, or how about a ‘chill out’ area with beanbags and cushions, or goody bags for everyone to take home?
The right tech can really take your event to the next level. We can set up the right lighting, audio and staging for post dinner speeches, banners and graphics to fit with your theme, and a variety of temporary structures from marquees for outdoor occasions to inflatable pods for larger areas.
We love all things Christmas and are happy to have a chat about how we can help with your upcoming party, so please do get in touch.
